- Convincing nonsense - how to deliver messages confidently and passionately regardless of the topic
- Capturing audience attention - how to avoid boring your audience
- Personal impact - exploring motivational and inspirational language
- Using visual aids for best effect
- Reading the audience
- Using the RAP method to deliver great presentations
- Putting it into practice - preparation and delivery of a presentation incorporating using the methods and skills introduced during the course
- Observation and feedback - delegates deliver their presentations and receive constructive feedback and coaching on their personal impact and the audience reaction
- ‘Storyteller' workshop review
Learning Approach
The course is highly participative and delegates will draw on their own experiences of presentations to respond to the techniques introduced during the course.
Features
Pre-course, delegates will be asked to:
- Discuss their personal objectives for the course with their line manager and/or colleagues
- Watch an episode of the Dragon's Den and make notes on how ideas are presented successfully
- Prepare a 5 minute presentation on a ‘convincing nonsense' topic from a list provided.
Post-course, delegates will be asked to deliver their refined and improved presentation back in the workplace, asking a member of their audience to provide structured feedback on how effective the presentation was.
