WHO SHOULD ATTEND
For key staff who would like to be aware of the duties placed on the employer by the COSHH Regulations and would like to become competent in undertaking any duties that they are required to carry out, to enable their employer to meet the statutory requirements.

OBJECTIVES
On completion of the course the delegates should be able to:
• State the main requirements of the COSHH Regulations
• Understanding the effects of hazardous substances on the body and its defences
• Understand risk assessment and identify suitable control methods for hazardous substances

CONTENT
• The reasons and motivation for the need to introduce measures to protect employees from exposure to hazardous substances.
• A basic introduction into occupational health and hygiene which is necessary when undertaking COSHH assessments as it is important to have an understanding of the effects of hazardous substances on the body and the bodies defences.
• An explanation of The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
• The principles of control measures for hazardous substances
