WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed to provide the underpinning knowledge for a professional career in health & safety. It is taken by both newly appointed safety practitioners and those with substantial experience who wish to become health & safety practitioners. Applicants must have at least NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum for entry onto this course.

OBJECTIVES
This course aims to provide the knowledge and understanding required by a competent health & safety professional.
It equips holders to advise on a range effective management of risk across a range of employment sectors.

CONTENT
This follows the NEBOSH syllabus which comprises of four core units:
• Unit A - Managing health & safety
• Unit B - Hazardous agents in the workplace
• Unit C - Workplace and work equipment safety
• Unit D - Workplace based assignment

LEARNING APPROACH
The event consists of 3 blocks of full time study. The first block (section A) is 3 weeks, followed by 2 blocks (section B & C) of 9 days. Revision days and the exam for section A follow block 1. Revision days and exams for sections B&C follow the 3rd block of full time study. Section D is an assignment set, which will need to be completed outside of this directed learning time.

FEATURES
The event consists of 3 blocks of 2 weeks full time study, each 2 week block is spaced by a further 2 weeks during which time it is expected that delegates will set aside a number of hours of personal learning time. This is then followed by a follow up revision day and then 3 days examinations. In addition to this there will be an assignment set which will need to be completed outside of this directed learning time. Units A, B & C are separately assessed by written examinations and the written assignment requires the application of learning gained from the complete syllabus.
