Who Should Attend

Aimed at First and Mid-level Managers.
The ability to manage the performance of team members is a skill that every manager needs to develop if they want the team and the business to succeed. This course not only considers where, when and how performance should be managed, but also provides techniques to help the manager motivate and monitor team members as well as giving and receiving feedback.
Delegates will learn how to set and monitor targets, how to handle potentially difficult conversations and give and receive constructive feedback when addressing under performance.

• Identify the root cause(s) of performance issues
• Handle performance interviews professionally to ensure positive outcomes
• Identify ways of improving underperformance
• Give and receive constructive feedback
• Set and monitor achievable targets and improvement plans
• Prepare and conduct a performance, counselling and return to work interview
• Create a Personal Action Plan to implement on return to work

Pre-course, delegates will be asked to identify and note down performance issues to be addressed along with any actions taken (or planned actions) and actual or planned outcomes.
Post-course, delegates will be asked to complete a work- based assignment on a specific performance management issue.
