WHO SHOULD ATTEND
For those who are to act as a Bridge Strike Nominee. The course is designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills as defined in the competence standard Network Rail Specification NR/SP/CTM/017.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the training the delegate will be able to:
• Explain the actions to be taken on arrival at a Bridge Strike incident
• Identify the various types of bridges that maybe involved
• State the permissible level of damage up to which a Bridge Strike Nominee is authorised to permit train movements

LEARNING APPROACH
Theory sessions shall be classroom based led by the trainer and include a mixture of lecture style presentations, group discussions and exercises. Appropriate question and answer interaction with the trainees to ensure learning is taking place. Theory sessions shall be supported with presentations.
FEATURES
Everyone carrying out these duties must be assessed as competent to carry out this safety critical duty and possess a Safety Critical Work Certificate. Successful and suitable trainees will be issued with certification valid for a 2 year period
