WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Delegates who are required to locate faults on telecommunication cables.

OBJECTIVES
On successful completion of the event the delegate will be able to correctly:
• Identify the type of fault using a multimeter and insulation tester
• Measure insulation resistance and insulation resistance standard
• Locate earth, contact and disconnection faults using a variety of bridge meters
• Locate contact and disconnection faults using a pulse echo tester (PET)

CONTENT
• Cable type and characteristics
• IR testing and the IR standard
• Three loop method for calculating the single wire resistance
• Location of earth, contact and disconnection faults using bridge meggers
• Location of contact and disconnection faults using pulse echo testers

LEARNING APPROACH
Classroom sessions and practical hands on using a variety of test equipment to locate faults on Installed lengths of cable.  Practical and short theory assessment also included.
