WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed to train persons who are responsible for the planning of safe systems of work on Network Rail Controlled Infrastructure. These persons will be making decisions as to what level in the planning hierarchy and what safety arrangements are planned for use of staff at the site. Delegates must also be aged 18 or over with good communication skills.
OBJECTIVES
On successful completion of the course the delegates will be able to:
• Provide sufficient understanding of the basic components and practice of railway engineering for the planning of the safe engineering access and safe systems of work on or about Network Rail Infrastructure

LEARNING APPROACH
Trainer led classroom and practical sessions. There is also a theory and practical assessment of the candidates knowledge and skills.
FEATURES
On successful completion of the course, each delegates shall undertake a period of mentored workplace experience to enable the learning to be consolidated through practical experience. A Core Planner 1 card will also be issued by Sentinel and delegates will be able to proceed to Core Planner Skills 2.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• A Personal Rule Book with relevant modules must be brought to the event by each delegate
• NCCA site ID and address of the sponsoring organisation will be required when booking the event
