WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Delegates who have successfully completed the Basic Electrical Safety Awareness course (BESA) or have knowledge of electrical and personal safety, and can use a multimeter to measure voltages and read wiring diagrams.
OBJECTIVES
On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to:
• Carry out work and test electrical equipment to the safety standards required by Rail Track Line Code of Practice WR/GN/1712 Appendix 2J01
CONTENT
• Procedures for working on electrical equipment
• Isolation procedures for working voltages in excess of 175 volts, where current is not limited to 25 amps or less
• Use of departmental instructions
• Roles and responsibilities of staff engaged in electrical work
LEARNING APPROACH
Classroom sessions, demonstrations and practical exercises. Theory and practical assessments are included.
