Signal Works Testing Module 3C Verification Testing of Signalling Equipment

Duration: 5 days training and 2 assessment days per delegate

Who Should Attend

Testing staff who are required to lead testing activities. Ideally delegates will hold a test assistant qualification and have had some workplace experience.

Objectives

• Lead a team in the verification testing of ‘locations', equipment rooms or control panels to ensure compliance with design
• Lead a team in the verification testing of an SSI ‘location'
• Verify modification to previously tested new equipment
• Lead a testing team in cable testing
• Lead a team in the verification testing of alterations to non-commissioned circuits

• Preparation work to lead a testing team
• Inspection of location or equipment room
• Wire count and continuity testing
• Working railway environment, bus bar testing
• Preparatory testing for controlled changeover
• Modifications to non commissioned circuitry
• Cable testing
• Inspection, wire count and continuity testing of panels
• Straps and false feeds
• Use of SSI test equipment
• Recording of the test results
• Reporting of irregularities found
