Who Should Attend

The course is primarily aimed at first line maintenance and faulting staff. Delegates should ideally have completed a DC Track Circuit course (recommended).

Objectives

On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to:

• Perform maintenance procedures correctly and take appropriate action
• Locate a right-side failure systematically and follow the correct procedures to rectify it and re-instate the equipment

Content

• Operation and principles of a TI21 Track Circuit
• Signal maintenance specification TC01
• Service ‘A' maintenance
• Service ‘B' maintenance
• Full test maintenance and necessary follow-up action
• Location of a right-side failure
• Replacement of specific items of equipment
• Procedures to be followed when rectifying and re-instating equipment

Learning Approach

Computer based training is used in conjunction with classroom sessions, demonstrations and practical exercises. Theory and practical assessments are included. Simulated environment with the ability to have faults applied.
